Councillor Sue Ellis
My parents moved to Potterhanworth 37 years ago and my Mum is still here. After more than 25 years of working overseas I never anticipated that I would live in Potterhanworth too. But, fate had it that my husband and I should move here and we did four years ago.
I trained and qualified as an Architect before taking further degrees in Development Practice, a field I have worked in ever since. I am lucky to have had a career that has seen me living and working all over the world in wonderful countries like Bosnia, Montenegro, Jordan, Yemen, Indonesia, Zambia and Tanzania. Having spent my career helping people in other countries, I was delighted to be able to do something to help my own community now that I live back in the UK. When the chance came to join the Council in 2024, I took it.
I love living in Potterhanworth and value the community spirit, the beautiful surroundings and the assets that we have as a village. I love that I can walk just a short distance from my house and be in the woods. I am always amazed by all the incredible events and activities volunteers manage to put together. I hope to play my part in supporting, protecting and strengthening our village and its surroundings in the future.
